Orchid Ball

The Orchid Ball is the chapter's formal each year. This year, Orchid Ball was held in Birmingham at the Wynfrey Hotel. Brothers and Alumni were on hand to celebrate the sixth anniversary of Sigma Pi at UWA, which began on February 21, 1996. Also included in the night's festivities are the presentation of the annual chapter awards. Brothers and dates capped off the evening and danced well into the night. Over eighty people were present for the celebration, making Orchid Ball 2002 the most successful ever.

  Homecoming

Held each fall, Homecoming is a great time for the brothers to bond closer during this week full of activities. Construction of the chapter homecoming float begins on Monday. In the past two years, the chapter has taken 1st and 2nd places in the float competition, needless to say, it is a great source of chapter pride. During the week, the University puts on "Tiger Fest" a downtown street party for the community, campus and alumni. At end of the week, chapter alumni begin to come in and the brothers cookout and re-live old college days. Saturday is the final day of the big week as the parade is held, chapter tailgate party, and the homecoming game itself.

Founder's Day

Founder's Day is held on February 26 of each year. This day is the anniversary of the fraternity's founding back in February 26, 1897. The Chapter in the past has held dances or Orchid Balls on this night.
